Episode 63: Discernment: Spiritual Warfare and God's Word (Part 4)

In this episode we look at the importance of the use of God's word in testing the spirits or discernments received in our mind. It is a spiritual war. The enemy (Satan) seeks to deceive the world by taking God's word and slighting twisting it so that mankind does not find the power of putting faith in the purity of God's word. We will look at the instructions God gives us establishing the word of God as being the foundation to this spiritual battle. We also examine how the devil sought to deceive Jesus and the churches today.

Episode 62: Discernment (Testimony): Warning against Presuming You have been Born Again (Part 3)

In this part 3 episode on discernment, we will look at the the warning against presuming you have been born again when it actually hasn't happened. Jesus speaks of this warning in Mathew chapter 7. There are many who have had spiritual encounters and are convinced this is proof they have been born again. But they don't understand that light is always working in darkness. It is light that leads a person out of darkness, however, many presume when they see or feel light working in their life they automatically assume it is a proof of adoption as a son of God.

Episode 61: Discernment: Don't Presume Like Abraham (Part 2)

In this part 2 episode on Discernment, we will look at an example with Abraham when his name was still Abram. Many people have not realized that Abraham presumed and did not fully understand God's promise of how he would bless his descendant. Abraham presumed at the time that it would be through a son of his seed and not involve his wife Sarah. Abraham had this deception for almost 25 years until God corrected him when he was 99 years old. If God let Abraham continue in his presumption, his descendants would have been one of slavery and under a curse and not the descendant of freedom and blessing.

Episode 60: Discernment: Listening to God's Voice (Part 1)

In this first part of a series on discernment, we will look at some basic principles. We know that God speaks to us through convictions by His Holy Spirit. So that we can be led by the Holy Spirit and not the flesh. Those who have the Spirit of God can know the thoughts of God. But God isn't the only one who tries to lead people. The Devil is also seeking to lead people, but to cause them to stumble. We must be aware of the two different forces at work.

In this series on OVERCOMING we will be doing a few episodes looking at Jesus' final words to his church. His desire is for the church to overcome or to conquer. Now some may think it doesn't really matter in the end, however, Jesus has some stern warnings to some of these churches if they do not overcome or fix the current problem that he sees. The consequences of not fixing the problem and overcoming are eternal consequences as we will find out as we at each church.

For the church of Thyatira they were commended for the deeds of late being greater than at first. But false teachers had crept in, one of them being a woman leading some in the church astray. This is not allowed as we discussed in the episode "In God's Church - Some are ELDERS (Part 2)." The false prophetess was causing the people to commit spiritual adultery in the eyes of God. In Part 4A we looked at examples in scripture of where God warns that continuing in any sin is committing spiritual adultery. Those who have received of a new heart and new spirit and fall into committing spiritual adultery will be put on a bed of sickness and will see death if they don't repent.

In part 4B, this episode, we will look at examples of where God looks at the intentions of the heart and says He will judge us according to our deeds. This can be found in the Old and New Testament books. We will also look briefly at the "morning star."

For the church of Pergamum, they were commended because a faithful witness Antipas had been faithful until death. This is consistent and what is required as taught by Christ as we read in the gospels as well as the message to Smyrna. But there were problems, some who held to the teaching of Nicolaitans and of Balaam. A teaching which does not speak against or expose sin because of ignorance (Nicolaitans), those who think sin is a normal part of their life and that God cannot cleanse them and remove it from them so they can walk in righteousness; or because of a conflict of interest (Balaam) which manifests itself in today's church of those who are afraid to offend the congregation by speaking against or pointing out sin for fear of reduced numbers or tithes (money). Jesus is clear this is not acceptable as he warns if there is no repentance he will make war with the sword of his mouth against those few who do not repent.

For the church of Ephesus, we find out they seemed to be doing everything well such as persevering, holding to the truth, exposing false teaching, and not growing weary. But it appears in their focus to hold to the truth and refute the Nicolaitans, they somehow lost focus and left their first love. If they don't repent, they are endanger of losing their lampstand and not eating from the tree of life.

Episode 50: In God's Church - Some are ELDERS (Part 2)

In this episode, we will look at what God's says about who are the overseer's of the Church. There is no model of a single pastor led church, nor multiple layers of leadership; but simply a group of Elder's with shared responsibility to oversee the church. We will also look at scripture at why women are not allowed to be Elder's or to oversee the church and also the reason why God gives in His word.

Episode 49: In God's Church - ALL are SERVANTS (Part 1)

In this first episode of 2, we will first look at the different positions in God's Church. In this episode we will look at the fact that all those who are members of the body of Christ are all called servants. One is not to be above another, but we all are to serve as God has equipped each saint with a gift of service. In part 2 we will look at some are called to be overseers.

In this episode we will look at what Jesus taught regarding being servants and also look at what is written in other new testament books. We will also expose the lie of this additional position of leadership call "deacons". A deacon as we will discover is nothing more than a servant, all saints are servants, and the passages in 1 Timothy 3:8-15 is in reference to all those who are in the church both men and women.

Episode 48: Why does Jesus call some Churches a "Synagogue of Satan"?

In this episode we will examine a statement Jesus made twice regarding the synagogues of Satan. Not only this, but God warns us through His word about how Satan does his work in secret INSIDE the churches. He warns about many of the leaders of churches who Confess Christ, preach the gospel and the Holy Spirit; but they serve the devil and not Jesus. They appear as apostles of Christ but are false. They are inside churches and God's word says that you don't even notice. What? How can this be. Grab your bible and let God explain through His word.

Episode 46: Are YOU the Temple of the Lord?

In this episode we will look at what God says about the temple. Many people are aware there was an initial tabernacle (tent) and then later a temple constructed which the Father would periodically come down and dwell in His Spirit as He would speak with Israel. But this was simply a shadow of the heavenly realm and also a shadow of what God currently desires which is for His Holy Spirit to dwell in side of all His saints. Jesus prophesied of the destruction of the physical temple and the establishment of his body as the new temple, which includes all true believers. We are now to be the dwelling of the Father in the Holy Spirit. We are now called the temple of the living God.

Episode 44: Ask to Receive AND be Filled with the Holy Spirit

In this episode we will look at two different works of the Holy Spirit. The first work I the initial filling in the life of a believer. This occurs when a person is born again, receiving the New Heart and New Spirit discussed in scripture. This allows a person to be freed from sin, having all sin removed, and to be able to live and walk in righteousness producing the fruit of the Spirit. Separate from this, there is additional subsequent fillings where a believer receives additional power for the work of ministry. This can be both manifested as a giving of a spiritual gift such as prophecy (prophet), teaching (teacher) or other gifts as discussed in 1 Corinthians ch 12 and other passages of scripture; as well as a single filling to support a single gift of prophecy or boldness in a teaching or response if you are brought before authorities on trail for the faith. God works in different ways and is not conformed to a formula. In this episode we will look at different passages of scriptures to understand some of the different ways God works.

Episode 43: You are Commanded to do GREATER WORKS than Christ, HOW?

Many people struggle with accepting doing the same works as Christ, which Jesus also commanded; but to do even greater works seems impossible. Episode 42: Don't Let One Verse Theology Steal Your Salvation

In this episode, we discuss the dangers of one verse theology and use two different verses which implies a simple confession or belief and you will be saved. But it is important that you fully understand what is meant by these verses. We will look at Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:9 as examples, but use God's word to more fully explain God's instructions for salvation.

Episode 41: Grace - Did it change You? (Part 2)

In this episode we will look at Grace and what change God says should be evident in your life. You may have heard Ephesians 2:8-9 ... for by Grace you have been saved through Faith, not of yourselves but the gift of God .../ but did you actually receive this Grace. Do you know what it was supposed to do? In this episode we will look at where this grace started, before the earth was formed. What God's plan was for use to receive this grace, and what the power of God was supposed to do inside of us? What would be the result in our life? We will conclude with a passage from 2 Timothy which then questions us whether or not we have entered into the firm foundation of God. Read and be blessed.

Episode 40: Grace - Don't receive it in VAIN (Part 1)

Episode 38: REDEMPTION - through Christ explained in NT (Part 4)

God's word explains Jesus died for our sins to redeem us from our past sins, so that we can have forgiveness from those past sins to then come before God to receive the Holy Spirit and New Heart. To be changed by God into the new man, the righteous man. To now live and walk in righteousness by the Holy Spirit of God.

Episode 37: REDEMPTION - Many who seek God will NOT receive Redemption (Part 3)

In this 3rd episode on Redemption, we will look at an example of why even though God wants to Redeem His people, the won't benefit from His desire to Redeem them. Why? Because they continued to trust in man's teaching and not the knowledge of God. As God says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Now this doesn't mean to none of Israel or Judah can be redeemed, but many of these people who lived during this time God pronounced judgement and death. It is only those who come in the true repentance of what God requires that they will receive of the blessings of the redemption of God. It all comes down to receiving of the New Heart and New Spirit so that you can come in true repentance and seek God in a truth so that you can find Him and find salvation for your soul.

Brayden grew up with the truth, a model "Christian" young man in the eyes of the fake Christian Church. But the problem is God looks at the heart now our outward behavior. Brayden had not yet been freed from the sinful thoughts that originated from his heart of sin that had not yet be spiritually circumsized and put to death through the baptism with Christ. Brayden confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and had been water baptized. But until you are truly willing to lose everything AND accept the full truth of God's word to be freed from sin; you are simply living a life of vanity.

Through an impending doom of calamity, Brayden gave up ALL of his life to find Eternal Life!

In this part 3 episode we look at the Devil's final temptation of Christ. In this final temptation the Devil didn't use any twisting of the Word of God, but appealed directly to any worldly desire within Christ, and Christ overcame, taking Devil's thought captive, resisted the Devil and rebuked the Devil. The question is how is this temptation different than yours. Well it all depends. If you have been born again and received a new heart with new thoughts, the old evil thoughts crucified and removed; then it should be easy for you to identify the thoughts of the Devil and to resist them. However, if you still have the old heart with its desires of the flesh; then you will find it difficult to distinguish between your wicked thoughts and the Devil's. Worse, you may even find your own worldly desires which still live in you, tempting and luring you to have sinful thoughts; which when conceived and completed brings for your sin and death as discussed in James ch1. When you have a new heart and the evil thought is the Devil's it will be easy for you to take captive the thought and rebuke it; the Devil will then flee. But if you don't have the new heart; then most likely your own thought will remain and you will find yourself warring against yourself and the sin which still dwells in you.

One of those examples is the rebellion of Korah (Numbers ch16), a people who claimed to be servants of God, who did His will, a Holy people; yet God disagreed and destroyed them. It is the same with His chosen people Isreal, WHY? Because they couldn't walk in obedience. These are the people who are accused of denying Christ.

Description: In this episode we will look at what God says in his word about King David. Repeatedly he is referred to as an example with respect how we are to walk and keep the commandments of God. We also will discuss the difference between a sinner and a righteous man. A sinner continues to commit sin because God hasn't cleansed him from all sin, whereas a righteous man no longer struggles and continues to commit sin each day. Most self professing "christians" would say they are not like the world, but they still sin every day and are no different than the rest of the sinners. They like to think they are different because they look at the "magnitude" or difference of the sin. But God will accuse you of being a murderer or adulterer if you even have the thought of "anger of man" or lust in your heart.

Episode 1: The REAL EASTER MESSAGE about WHY Jesus Died

In this episode we will look at what God say is the reason why Jesus dies. Too many people today are only hearing part of the truth. They will hear God loves you, Jesus died for your sins because we are sinners, etc... Although those statements are true, they are not the full message of truth. Yes God loves the entire world and desires that none perish, but guess what, many perish. What happened to God's love? Yes Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, but many will still be cast into hell. Yes even those who believe and confess Jesus as Lord will be cast into hell. How can this be? Because if you know the whole truth and real reason why Jesus dies it, then you would know that it is to free you from sin! To be made into a new creation, to overcome and now walk in holiness by the power of God. We will look at several different passages in the bible as we review God's true message and not the half truth or lie the devil has infiltrated most of the churches in the world today.

David was chased by Saul; he was a righteous man, persecuted by a King who sought to please the world, not to please God. David, inspired by the Holy Spirit penned these words. Jesus knew what David wrote, because they had the unity of the Holy Spirit. In this episode, we read the Psalm that was on Messiah Jesus' mind as he died for the sins of the world. Psalm 22.

In this 3 part series we will look at the topic of lying and deception. Many conclude that any lie or deception is automatically a sin. Well this isn't always the case in the eyes of God. It depends on the situation and who's will is being done. There are actually several instances in the bible where "church leaders" will proclaim certain righteous men committed a sin due to a lie or deception when if you study God's word, that conclusion is not taught in the bible. In part 1 we will first look at examples where instances of lying or deception occurred that just about everyone would conclude there was no sin on the part of the one taking part in the lying or deception. As a matter of fact, one such person such behavior was credited to them as righteousness. We will look at several specific examples of God directing the deception, as well as Rahab, and an example with Jesus. In upcoming part 2 we will look at what God defines as someone who lies, and part 3 will finish with events in the bible that many "church leaders" are coming to a false conclusion.

Episode 60: Do you know God's TRUSTWORTHY STATEMENTS?

They primarily are centered around the gospel message from giving context to what it is and the importance of making sure the message is protected from distortion. Some bible versions may use a different phrase, but the Greek manuscript words are Pistos [Strongs #4103 - Faithful or trustworthy] and Logos [Strongs # 3056 - Word]. We also cover the "True" Greek word Alethinos [Strongs #228] in 2 passages in Revelation. Logos is a noun, the other two are adjectives.

Episode 58: Christ's Perfect Church in Action (Part 2)

In this episode we will continue to provide examples of the Church of God in action. Before we started this episode God provided a message to pray for a specific person for healing of a blood disease, specifically a blood clotting issue with the individual. God revealed the person goes by Debi and Deborah. Spelling may be different as God provided the name audibly. This is an example of how when God is leading by the Spirit, no one can take any credit but God alone for revealing the work He wants to do. We also discuss an example of evangelizing and how the body of Christ works together to seek wisdom and answers from God as we seek to grow His kingdom. We discuss the expectation of God's church all being active members. There are no spectators in the church of God. If you are not gathering, then Jesus will accuse you of scattering.

Episode 57: God's Perfect Church In Action

In this episode we will look at God's perfect church. It all starts with His Perfect Word. It isn't the partial truth that is able to do a perfect work inside of someone, but it must be the Perfect Truth or Word of God that is being proclaimed and believed upon. God's Perfect work in a person allows addition to Body of Christ. This happens when we receive the Holy Spirit and it changes our heart freeing us from the sinful practices and thoughts we formerly walked in. God then gives His Perfect Gifts to each member of the body as He so chooses to perform His work of service. Specifically what we will look at is the result and how God leads the Church by His Spirit. It is as Jesus said, you don't know where the wind comes from or where it is going; so is everyone who is led by the Spirit of God. In this episode we discuss our experiences of how we used to experience and function as a church vs how we function now that the Spirit of God is alive and living in us.

In this episode we will look at why Paul's writings are so hard to understand. As it turns out, it isn't just Paul's writings. It is the message of truth from God. People have been misunderstanding God's message for thousands of years. Peter refers to this fact in 2 Peter ch3. Where he warns that the untaught and unstable distort not only Paul's writings, but they do this will all of scripture. For instance, if you look at the book of Romans, from which much of church doctrine comes from; most people have a faulty and backwards understanding with the application and use of the Romans road. Many people identify with the perceived struggles of Paul in the present with the two natures of why do I continue to do the things that I hate. Well if they only heard the entire story and realized that earlier in the chapter God teaches that if you still have two natures or are like the women who is married to Christ and still of the old nature then you will be accused of being an adulteress. But no one is receiving that teaching. Or about the fact of Paul's use of referring to when he WAS a slave of sin in the past. But many translations don't always get the tense correctly, because they are translating the way they believe. In this episode we will look at foundational teachings and doctrines in the book of Romans, highlighting them in the order of appearance and using God's word as he defines these items.

Episode 53: Time to Get Your House in Order

In this episode I will respond to a listener question "Why are women so desperate for love and Why aren't men fulfilling that need?" There are several items to address with this question. First, a man or a woman who have spiritual unity with God are going to be fulfilled independent of their spouse. Second, the world today has it backwards with how God designed the relationship between a man and a women with respect to authority and headship. The world will accept the authority of a boss in the work place. Just because someone has the title of "boss" doesn't give them the right to abuse the relationship with subordinates. This is no different than how God designed the authority in a home. People will accept a hierarchy of authority in the world, but are resistant to it in the home. Why? Even among self professing Christians, they will accept the authority of Jesus Christ being their Lord or Master, with when God commands the same relationship in the home; many will reject the command of God. In this episode we will look both at individual short comings of both the man and the women and address the cause. We will also look at what God says about His expectations which are addressed in both the Old and New Testament. I pray this will be a blessing to you.

Episode 45: God speaks to more than just Saints

In this episode we will look at examples where God speaks to not only Saints but also those who are still seeking to become Saints or Christians. Many times, people think because a book in the bible starts off speaking to the Saints or Christians, that much of all that is written in that book is always speaking to the "Christians". But this isn't the case in many instances. Those who are truly Christians often times don't have that much written to them other than a brief exhortation. Much of the bible is actually written to those who are seeking, those who often call themselves Christians; but they actually are not yet truly Christians. Then there is the case of those who did receive the Spirit of God; but have somehow found themselves going backwards. In this episode we will look at a few examples where this is more clearly evident in God's word.

Episode 44: God says "All Souls are Mine!"

In this episode we will look at the question "are you free?" Do you really understand what this statement means as God defines it? We will look at how God defines this question. At the time Jesus spoke about this, he was speaking to those who believed in him, but they didn't understand. It comes down to what are you actually free from? It goes beyond the penalty of sin, but the actual practice of evidence of sin in a persons life being removed. If you still commit sin, then Jesus says you aren't free. We will look at this question and how Jesus defines it as well as some other passages on this topic.

Episode 41: The Mystery of Circumcision, The Argument Explained

In this episode we will look at the hotly debated topic in the bible between the Jews and the Apostles regarding circumcision. Circumcision was required by God to Abraham as part of the covenant God made with him to bless all the nations. So why do the Jews demand it and the Gentiles say it isn't required? Both are true when put in proper context. Most people simply don't understand exactly what God says in His word regarding the topic. Before we get into this discussion we start with a reading of Psalm 145. A highlight from this reading is that God only draws near to those who call upon Him in TRUTH. Many call upon Him, but you must call upon Him in Truth (Psalm 145:18)!

As to "Circumcision", God requires everyone who is a direct descendant of Abraham to be circumcised. This requirement however is not applicable to Gentiles, because they are not a physical Jew. Paul spoke against circumcision for Gentiles, but preached circumcision for the Jews, and we cover were he explains that. But more important than this is the spiritual circumcision of the heart that is required for both Jews and Gentiles.

Episode 40: How do you Love your Enemies?

In this episode we will look at the teaching where Jesus commands us to love and pray for our enemies. What did Jesus really mean when he said this? It seems like it would be hard to love your enemies. What about the places in the bible where God commands not to pray for a people because He has determined to destroy them (Jeremiah 7:1-28, 11:1-16, 14:7-15:7). As we look at God's word, we will see that to love your enemies and much of the other commands Jesus gives are impossible to do from the heart as the old man. Episode 39: Taking Every Thought Captive, BUT WHAT THOUGHTS?

In this episode we will look at a phase commonly used, however it is used many times completely out of context. Most people use this phrase to address how they deal with the sinful thoughts that dwell within them. When a sinful thought arises in their mind, instead of realizing it is due to the bad heart where sinful thoughts still exist thus indicating they DO NOT have a new heart, they attribute it the normal state of a "Christian." Many falsely and ignorantly use a bible passage from 2 Corinthians 10:5, "taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." But what thoughts are being referred to in this verse? Looking at the full verse, it is referring to speculations and lofty statements raised up against the knowledge of God. As you examine the full chapter and subsequent chapters, you realize it is the false teaching that God's word is referring to that are to being taken captive, it is not referring to sinful thoughts a person is struggling with.

In this episode we will look at the memorial song God commanded Israel to learn when he brought them out of Egypt. Many are familiar with God choosing Israel as a nation for Himself. God calls Israel His firstborn son, God redeems Israel, brings salvation to Israel. Yet in spite of all this, God ends up forsaking the nation and extending the promise to Gentiles. This song is a witness against Israel and to their destruction. God decides to not completely destroy them for the sake of His name. We know at the very end when Jesus comes at his second coming; the veil will be removed from Israel and they will accept the truth. This is discussed in Romans ch 11 and towards the end of Zechariah (not covered in the episode today).

In this episode we will look at the NT passages which demonstrate OT prophecy as being fulfilled with respect to the Gentiles having access to God. This access is through the blood of Christ to be able to become partakers of the Holy Spirit of God. The promise of salvation now being fulfilled as it is offered to the Gentiles. We will also see a similar patter of God's behavior towards Israel just as in the OT. Sadly even though Israel had the promises, because they wouldn't humble themselves; God ended up destroyed many of the people. The same thing happened again when Christ came. He spoke to them in parables specifically so they would NOT understand, NOT repent and NOT be healed. This is recorded in Mathew ch 13 and was discussed more in Part 4C episode, NT passages from Mathew through the book of Acts. In this episode of Part 4D we cover the book of Romans to the end of the NT.
